Alexander McQueen MenswearBorn in London in 1969 Alexander McQueen left school at the tender ago of 16 to work as a tailor’s apprentice on Savile Row. After working at Angels & Bermans and Romeo Gigl, Alexander McQueen then apprenticed at Gieves & Hawkes, once embroidering a suit for the Prince of Wales with the words ‘I am a c**t’ in the lining.

After completing an MA in fashion design at Central St.Martins in 1994, Alexander McQueen has become one of the most famous and respected international clothes designers. Alexander McQueen has been named British designer of the year an incredible four times – in 1996, 1997, 2001 and 2003.
