Dolce & Gabbana was founded by the dynamic design duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana (Dolce & Gabbana) and was created in 1983, and became a overnight headline grabbing fashion powerhouse. They have since started a sister brand D & G which tends to follow an urban inspiration, it attempts to set trends in the fashion world, rather than follow them.
The pair opened their first boutique in Tokyo in 1989, and Madonna famously wore one of the pair’s shirts in 1991 to the Cannes Film Festival. They presented their first men’s collection that same year and have since expanded into fragrances, underwear, handbags, shoes, swimwear, eyewear, and jeans. The label is known for signatures like corset dresses, leopard print, and sexy, sleek three-piece pant suits.
